Temptation

Temptation Is…
1) A HUMAN Experience.
13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man... 1 Corinthians 10:13a (ESV)
2) NOT A Sin!
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15 (ESV)
3) DESIGNED Just For You!
14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. James 1:14 (ESV)
Temptation Does…
1) Lead Us AWAY FROM GOD.
5 For this reason, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our labor would be in vain. 1 Thessalonians 3:5 (ESV)
2) Destroys Our LIFE & our ETERNITY.
9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 1 Timothy 6:9 (ESV)
9 But people who long to be rich soon begin to do all kinds of wrong things to get money, things that hurt them and make them evil-minded and finally send them to hell itself. 1 Timothy 6:9 (TLB)
Resisting Temptation…
1) Run AWAY_!!!!!
18 Flee from sexual immorality... 1 Corinthians 6:18a (ESV)
14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 1 Corinthians 10:14 (ESV)
11 But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 1 Timothy 6:11 (ESV)
2) Fight THE DEVILI!
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (ESV)
3) Pray ALWAYS !
41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 (ESV)
40 And when he came to the place, he said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” Luke 22:40 (ESV)
4) Dress APPROPRIATELY!
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:13 (ESV)
God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13b (ESV)
EVERYONE is tempted – you can’t ESCAPE ALL of it – so be READY & fight BACK!
